Crysis
Crysis is a first person shooter game to be released in 2007 for PC and is developed by the german game developer Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. The game is set in the near future on a tropical island in the vicinity of North Korea, where the player has to fight korean troops as well as enigmatic aliens. The player is playing as Jake Dunn, a member of a special force unit of the US, wearing a high tech combat suit with special abilities such as making its owner stronger, faster, more resistend and is for example able to hide the player using a cloaking device for a limited amount of time.
Game Technology
Crysis is using the CryEngine in version 2, which was developed by the company behind the game, Crytek. The previous version of this engine has become popular with the game FarCry. Crysis is believed to be the showpiece game for the CryEngine 2 and thus using wide range of new features of modern 3D graphics hardware, creating a very realistic environment and good-looking graphics, but also has been critised for its big appetite for fast graphics cards.
