Gameplay Review
Downloading and installing the game is pretty easy: You don't have to. You just click on the 'new game' link and there you go. The game is basically free, so you can play it right away, you don't even have to register, which is very nice.
You start in a dungeon and fight your way up to a village where you get to know the people living in the world and can start your first quests. There are numerous different quests available in the game world and are exciting to solve: Help the farmers to get rid of the goblin plague or find some ancient swords for the mage of the village, for example. You can spend hours exploring the forests and dungeons and the game simply doesn't get boring.

Game Technology
The game uses Adobe Flash as platform, making it available on a lot of systems such as Mac, PC and Linux. The game is played directly in a webbrowser, and your character and other data is stored on the game server, so it is possible to play the game from any place in the world. Darkness Springs uses an isometric rendering engine developed by Ambiera which "...provides the possibility to light these maps using infinite dynamic and static lights", and makes the game look really good, especially compared to other flash games.
